Battle of the vegan body butters/lotions

Today’s post is going to be about body butters and body lotions. Since I use them nearly every day, I have specific demands for them. They need to be moisturizing, easy to use, not overly greasy, suitable for sensitive skin and they have to smell nice. Here is a smackdown of the body moisturizers in my collection…

First in line we have Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Body Lotion. This a natural body lotion with organic pomegranate oil to firm the skin and slow down the ageing process. The packaging of this products is really cool. It protects the body lotion completely from air and light to make it last longer instead of adding preservatives.

I love the fresh scent of the pomegranate in this body lotion. I feel totally clean and refreshed when using this after a shower. It is quite light and sinks in the skin well. You don’t have to wait for fifteen minutes to put your skinny jeans back on after applying this lotion. It moisturizes the skin well, but not enough for those really dry patches like the elbows and knees. An extra moisturizing product (like the Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Oil) is needed for that.

On to the next product. Dream Cream by Lush is a healing body and hand lotion that is supposed to soothe irritated skin. The packaging of Lush products has always appealed to me. The black pots and simple letters look so cool for some reason. They are however not the most convenient to use because lotion tends to get stuck in the groove of the screw-on lid and leave a bit of a mess behind.

I love love love what Dream Cream does to my skin. It is so gentle that I can even use it when I a pityriasis rosea outbreak. I use it in the evenings because of its nighttime scent, but you can also use this after a shower because Dream Cream is quite light and doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy.

The last product in my stash is The Righteous Body Butter Lotion by Soap & Glory. That is a long name so let’s call it TRBBL for convenience. TRBBL is a body moisturizer packed with shea butter, almond butter and aloe vera. The name of this thing is spot on since the consistency really is somewhere in between a butter and a lotion. TRBBL moisturizes my skin pretty well and gets the job done without leaving a greasy layer.

TRBBL comes in a huge (500ml!!) bottle with pump system. The style Soap & Glory products is so unique with its retro design, pink accent color, big letters and cute writings.

The scent of TRBBL is sweet yet soft. It is a staple Soap & Glory scent. It is not overpowering but does make you smell like the color pink for a while.

Now who is the winner of this battle you ask? To me the clear winner is Dream Cream by Lush. It is really gentle and leaves my skin soft and revived. Honorable mentions go to The Righteous Body Butter Lotion for its delish scent and to Pomegranate Regenerating Body Lotion for its outstanding packaging.

All products featured in this post are vegan and cruelty free.
