In my Muji Drawers

When I first went to London (about two years ago now), I purchased two Muji Drawers. Since then, I have been using them to store my everyday makeup items. Every month or so I take out all the products and replace most of them by other products in my collection in order to change things up and rotate all the makeup items that I own. Since I love seeing the contents of others peoples Muji drawers, I thought it might be interesting to show you mine, so here is a closer look.

I may have mentioned this before, but lipstick is my favorite makeup item. I therefore keep lots of options on hand at all times. These are the ones that I am currently using:

Zoeva – Cream Luxe Lipsticks: These are so creamy and pigmented that they are my current favorite lipsticks.
Lush – Lipsticks: Lush really knows how to do a good long-wearing lipstick. Confident (the deep berry color on the right) is my current favorite Lush Lipstick. I plan on investing in a few more of these in the future.
Beauty Without Cruelty – Lipsticks:  I’ve always liked these lipsticks, but never felt like I used them enough. That is why am keeping them in my Muji drawers.
B. is for Beautiful – Intense Colour Lipstick: B. is for Beautiful is a UK based brand by Superdrug. All of their products are vegan. The lipstick that I own from them is called Doll’s House and is a soft pink color that is pretty neutral on me. I use this one a lot when I dont have the time to come up with a look or can’t find a lipstick to match my eye shadow.

Barry M Loud Mouth: These are like a mix between a lipstick and a lipgloss. They wear very comfortably. I like to mix these two colors together to create a nice mauve pink color.

On to the eyes. The eye shadows that you see here are the ones that I use the most. They are my absolute favorites.

Too Faced – Matte Eye: The pigmentation and versatility of this palette are amazing. I loved it from the first time I used it and have kept on reaching for it ever since.
Wet N Wild – Walking on Eggshells: This little palette has come in very handy to me. I use it a lot when I travel and the pink ‘Eyelid’ color has become a staple in my collection. I am not a fan of the cheap packaging of this palette, but the quality is really good.
E.L.F – Baked Eye Shadow in Bark: If I were to ever loose this eye shadow I would be pretty upset. I use this one a lot when I don’t have time in the morning. I apply it on my lid and blend it in my crease. One shadow all over. The pigmentation of this eye shadow is great and the product will last me for ages.

At the moment I have two mascaras on hand. One for ‘natural lashes’ and one for ‘dramatic lashes’.

Alverde – Nothing But Volume: I got this from a German friend (you can’t find brands like P2 and Alverde here in Belgium sadly). The wand is very large and the formula is pretty thick. I don’t really like this mascara. The wand is so thick that it is hard to apply with precision and the mascara has a tendency to smear on my lower lids. It does create a pretty dramatic lash and is also really black, so I still use it for when I am going to parties and such.
E.L.F – Waterproof Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara: This one I like a lot better. The formula of it is thinner and it creates a more ‘natural’ look. It doesn’t budge once on and holds a curl really well.

These are my foundations, concealer and setting powder that I am currently using. All of these are in the palest shade.

B. is for Beautiful – Sheer Pressed Powder: This is another one of my London based purchases. It is a pretty basic powder that mattifies well. If I went to London again, I would repurchase this one.
B. is for Beautiful – Flawless Long-lasting Concealer: What I love about this concealer is that it is so pale (I have the shade 090 Light). Because of that it really brightens my under-eye area. The only thing that I don’t like about it is that it accentuates dryness.
GOSH – X-Ceptional Wear Foundation: You may have seen this product about ten times on Black Luck already, but I just keep on loving it. It is a really good foundation! The coverage is great but it still feels light on the skin, a little goes a long way, it barely oxidizes and it is budget friendly.
Wet n Wild – Coverall Cream Foundation: I use this foundation when I want even more coverage. The consistency of this foundation is pretty thick but it goes on smoothly. The packaging is rubbish though. The spot where the foundation comes out is way too wide making for messy application. I also struggle to get all of the product out of the tube because the formula is so thick. I do think that the product itself is worth the crappy packaging.

A few more of my favorite things: cheek products. Every time that I wear foundation, I just have to wear a blush and contour powder to look more alive again. They make such a big impact!

Too Faced – Sweethearts Blush: This is hands down my favorite blush. The packaging stands out from my other blushes and the product itself so easy to use. It is not too pigmented so you can’t go wrong with it. I really love this product and it has proven to be a good investment.
Delizioso Skincare – Natural Cream Blush: I got this tiny cream blush in the December Vegan Cuts box. It is extremely pigmented so a little goes a really long way. The blended color resembles my natural flushed color which is really cool. I love traveling with this blush because of its portable size and weight. It was a very good addition to my collection.
theBalm – Mary-Lou Manizer: I don’t wear highlighter often, but when I do this one is my first choice.  It has a creamy texture and is packed with pigment. I use this one in the inner corner of my eye a lot or as an all-over-lid color.
theBalm – Bahama Mama: My favorite bronzer (that I actually use as a contour powder). This is a matte cool-toned bronzer. It is very pigmented but blends really well. It looks very natural blended out.

Et voila, now you know the contents of my Muji Drawers. I really like having my everyday makeup together like this. It is a mess-free system that looks classy in my opinion. You can buy Muji Drawers here. There are also lots of more affordable lookalike makeup drawers on ebay.

All of the products featured in this post are vegan and cruelty free.
