New to my skin-care routine

A couple of weeks ago, I had a breakout that made me switch things up in the skin-care department. I was in desperate need of new cleansing water anyway, so why not go all the way and try a new face wash as well? An online search for perfume-free cleansers suitable for sensitive skin lead to these two products.

Klorane – Soothing make-up remover with cornflower water

When first I saw this huge bottle with handy pump-pressing system, I knew that it would be mine. I found this product in my local pharmacy. It is a cleansing water formulated without alcohol, perfume or parabens that is supposed to be suitable for removing all types of makeup. An all-in-one product. Often times with cleansing waters like this, I find that they aren’t strong enough to remove all my eye makeup, or I need about four cotton pads to get the job done. No such problems with this one. It leaves the skin feeling refreshed and doesn’t sting the eyes.

Dr. Organic – Tea tree face wash

This product is supposed to be a ‘gentle yet deeply penetrating facial cleanser’. It doesn’t contain parabens, SLS or perfume. Looking at the ingredient-list, the first ingredient I see (and therefore the ingredient that this face wash contains the most of) is Aloe Vera Extract. Great! This cleanser ticks all the boxes for me. It feels nice on my skin, has antibacterial properties and doesn’t make my skin feel tight. For some reason, I also like it’s mild scent. It’s kind of refreshing in the early mornings. What I find really cool about these Dr. Organic products is that they have very clear labels. Each product says if it is suitable for vegetarians or vegans and has clear (and correct) information about the ingredients. Gotta love it when brands make things easy.

I really don’t have a bad word to say about either of these two products. I find that they make a very effective duo in my double cleanse routine and my skin seems to like them as well. Verdict: out with old, in with the new.

You can buy Klorane in larger pharmacies or here. If you are from the Netherlands, you will find Dr. Organic at De Tuinen, people from Belgium can find it at Essenza and online you can buy the tea tree cleanser here.
All products featured in this post are vegan and cruelty free.
