Review Barry M Natural Glow Palette

Barry M recently came out with three new budget-friendly palettes containing six eye shadows and a blush each. The three palettes are the Smokin’ Hot palette, the Glamour Puss palette and the Natural Glow palette. Since, like most people, I tend to go for neutral eye shadow the most (boring?), I opted for the natural version.

The palette comes in beige cardboard packaging with bronze letters. A bit inspired by the Naked palette, Barry M? Inside you find a decently-sized mirror and some lame sponge-tip applicators. Seriously, what is up with brands thinking that sponge-tip applicators are still acceptable? Brushes please! Anyhow, over to the eye shadows. the color selection looks well thought out to me. You get a pink-ish all over lid color, a highlighter, a matte crease color and some darker definition colors. I don’t know about you, but I spot some Naked dupes there. The blush is so light that you could use it as a highlighter or (for girls with very pale skin) as a blush.

The colors are all (except for the palest one) nicely pigmented. They are a bit crumbly, but nothing too disturbing. The darkest colors apply the smoothest. What I love about this palette is that it really is a neutral palette. You could create the most subtle eye-looks with it, giving your eyes just a touch of definition. You could also create an earthy smokey eye with it or use the darker colors as a soft liner.

    • Oh, that’s really cool! It is on my wishlist. I am curious, what do you think of the eyeshadow primer in the palette?

Thanks for your comments by the way!

      • I actually really hate the primer! I’ve only used it twice and it’s sort of crumbly and difficult to apply. Maybe there’s a better way of applying it! I use e.l.f.’s mineral eye primer with the palette and get much better results with that. And you’re very welcome! 🙂
